Dooley: A Family Memoir

€20.00

THE RISE OF OFFALY as a hurling powerhouse in the 1980s and 90s can best be viewed by visiting one family home in the county. In that single house in the parish of Clareen, five boys and four girls made up the Dooley family – and three of those Dooley sons would seize 7 All-Ireland medals between them. In 1985, Joe won his first All-Ireland with Offaly, but in 1994 and ’98 his younger brothers Johnny and Billy would join him in the famous green, white and gold jersey in Croke Park on All-Ireland day. On each of those famous Sundays in ’94 and ’98, Joe, Johnny and Billy led Offaly to magnificent and memorable victories.
